For the best possible outcome, please read this entire guide and watch our installation video before you begin. Proper wall prep and installation are essential.

💡 Note: Our installation video shows the application process only. Wall prep is not covered in the video—but it is absolutely mandatory. The video shows extra-large panels which you have discontinued as they are tricky for the novice installer to manage, but that you can print them on request, (shipping is extra on larger panels)
1. Prepare for Installation
What You'll Need:
-
240-grit (or finer) sandpaper
-
Viponds Self-Adhesive Prep Coat
-
4mm nap mohair or synthetic roller
-
Step ladder
-
Squeegee or felt-edged application tool
-
Sharp Stanley knife or craft knife
-
Metal ruler
-
Clean microfiber cloth
2. Wall Preparation Steps – DO NOT SKIP
Step 1: Sand the Walls
Lightly sand your wall using 240-grit (or finer) sandpaper to remove surface texture and ensure a smooth finish. This is critical to achieve proper adhesion and prevent peeling or bubbling.
Step 2: Apply Viponds Self-Adhesive Prep Coat
Use a 4mm nap roller to apply two coats of Viponds Prep Coat at least 24 hours before installing your wallpaper.
Why it matters:
Most modern paints (including washable and Teflon-based types) repel adhesives. Prep Coat ensures the wallpaper can bond correctly to your wall.
Follow drying instructions on the Viponds label and ensure walls are completely dry before moving on.
Step 3: Clean the Surface
Use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe down the wall and remove any dust or oils. Let it dry completely before you start.
⚠️ Do NOT use cleaning agents—only water. Any residue can interfere with adhesion.
3. Installing Your Wallpaper
Step 1: Remove Obstacles
Unscrew and remove power points, light switch covers, and wall hooks.
Step 2: Start from the Left
Begin with the panel marked ‘1’ on the back. Lay it on the floor and peel back about 10cm of the backing.
Make sure the ‘TOP’ label is facing the ceiling.
Step 3: Align Carefully
Always overhang the wallpaper at the top by at least 5cm, as most walls aren't square, then trim. overhang the left-hand edge if required also.
Step 4: Stick & Smooth
Press the top section onto the wall and use your squeegee to smooth it down. Slowly peel away the backing as you go, pressing and smoothing to eliminate bubbles.
Tip: Work from the top down in small sections. Use your hand or squeegee to gently push out any air.
Step 5: Match & Overlap Panels
Each panel overlaps the next by 1cm. Line up the image carefully—especially at the top and bottom—for a seamless look.
Step 6: Trim Excess
Use a sharp Stanley knife and metal ruler to trim edges, around corners, or any wall features like light switches.
Repositioning or Moving Wallpaper
Yes, our wallpaper is removable and repositionable!
To move it, carefully peel it off and place it back on the original backing sheet. Roll for transport and store flat.
Keep in mind: wallpaper is custom-fit, so it may not align perfectly if reused in a different space.
Wrapping Around Corners
We recommend installing the first panel slightly above the cornice line to allow for wall warping.
When continuing onto another wall, you can either:
-
Cut precisely at the corner and start a new panel, or
-
Wrap the panel around the corner for pattern continuity
