How to Order Wallpaper | L A Interiors
Everything you need to know before placing your wallpaper order
Step 1: Order an A3 Sample
We highly recommend starting with an A3 sample before committing to a full panel order. This helps you:
-
View the true colours in your own lighting
-
Feel the premium PhotoTex® fabric texture
-
See the scale and detail of the design in person
Note: Slight colour variations may occur between sample and full product due to differences in print runs.
Step 2: Measure Your Walls
Ordering is simple—just measure the width and height of your wall(s) accurately.
Panel Heights
We offer five standard panel heights to suit most walls and allow for any uneven surfaces:
Standard Wall Heights by Region
Australia: 240cm, 270cm, 300cm, 365.8cm
USA: 236cm (7ft 9in), 244cm (8ft), 274cm (9ft), 305cm (10ft), 335cm (11ft), 365.8cm (12ft)
UK: 230cm, 240cm, 250cm, 260cm
Panel Width
Each wallpaper panel is 64cm wide, with a 1cm overlap for a seamless join.
How to calculate how many panels you need:
Total wall width ÷ 64cm = Number of panels (Always round up to the next whole number)
Example:
A wall that is 300cm wide → 300 ÷ 64 = 4.69 → You’ll need 5 panels
Measuring Guidelines
One Feature or Standard Wall
-
Measure the width at both the top and bottom of the wall
-
Measure the height on both the left and right sides
-
Use the largest measurement for ordering
Multiple or Adjoining Walls
-
Measure each wall’s width separately as per instructions for one feature wall
- Measure each wall’s width separately and use the tallest point across all walls for height.
-
Add the widths together for the total
-
Use the tallest point across all walls
-
Always allow extra height for wall warping, we recommend at least 10cm
Pitched Ceilings
-
Measure the full width of the wall as per instructions for one feature wall
-
Use the tallest point of the ceiling for height, this will be your height
-
Trim excess wallpaper as needed during installation
Walls with Obstacles
-
Measure the entire wall height and width as per instructions for one feature wall—even if part of it is covered by doors or windows
-
Cut around these features during installation using relief cuts (relief cuts are diagonal or angled cuts made in the wallpaper to allow it to wrap around edges or obstacles)
Important Notes Before You Order
-
Double-check your measurements—once your wallpaper is printed, it cannot be changed or returned
-
If you’re unsure, round up to allow for wall warping or small measuring errors
-
Additional panels may not be possible later for murals or colour-matched designs
-
Slight colour differences may occur between separate print runs
